Hartlepool United F.C.

Hartlepool United Football Club is a professional association football club based in Hartlepool, County Durham, England. Hartlepool play their home games at Victoria Park on Clarence Road. The club was founded in 1908 as Hartlepools United Football Athletic Company. Their main rivals were Darlington, until that club entered into administration in 2012.

Brian Clough began his managerial career at the club in 1965. Under Cyril Knowles’ management the club won promotion to the Third Division in 1990. In 2005, Hartlepool narrowly missed promotion to the Football League Championship.
